Interior decorating for the Surf Life Saving Lottery prize home
EPHRAIM ISLAND APARTMENT
Gold Coast
Decorating a 3-bedroom luxury apartment at Ephraim Island, located in Gold Coast’s Paradise Point. This home was part of the Surf Life Saving Lottery prize pool.
Brief
A gated community for retirees in their late 50s, the generously-sized apartments boasted stunning water views. The goal was to create a look that appealed to the older generation while complementing the existing apartment layout and style.
Process
- Comfort and practicality was the main focus to evoke laid-back, easy living.
- Maximised the abundance of living and entertainment space, and brought the outdoors in.
- Colour palette mainly consisted of warm, neutral tones and pastel blues for a relaxed, coastal theme.
- Created points of interest by adding wallpaper on feature walls in the living and dining room.
- Added textural and natural elements with timber, linen and rattan.
- Supported and promoted local business by opting for Australian suppliers.
Challenges
- Gated community on an island – All deliveries had to be scheduled in with the main office and the island also had weight restrictions, meaning no trucks were allowed past a certain point. We had to hire a ute to transport furniture deliveries from the main gate to the apartment.
- Poor access – There was a struggle with delivering large furniture pieces via the staircase and lift. We had to call on professional abseilers to lift a sofa from outside of the apartment.
Outcome
Fantastic result, the client was beyond pleased and most importantly, plenty of lottery tickets were snatched up!
